Is the phrase “Have a good one” strictly a southern phrase? Or is that used pretty widely? Sometimes we don’t realize something’s colloquial but this one seems like it may be more widespread??!

@BWheelerBooks I’ve had the same thing happen, & found it is a by agency policy. If via query tracker, try messaging with your original query. When it’s happened for me, they usually reply, but it’s been different answers.

If an agent you queried moves agency right after you query them and they haven’t responded yet, can you query them at the new agency even if you also just queried someone else at that agency - who also hasn’t replied - because you didn’t know the agent was moving there?? 😭

Kids deserve horror stories. It teaches them how to battle the monsters that will one day appear in their life

@pippawestauthor I’m in the same boat. Queried first in 2016, then paused after a genre shift & been querying consistently since 2020. Been a roller coaster of bad timing & lots of almost. Feel like I haven’t moved an inch. Agents have been lovely but the trench is exhausting & lonely.

Querying has given me major burnout, to the point where I don't even want to think about my writing career🥲I know my motivation and creativity will recover, but years of this has driven me close to giving up.
