LASU has approved plans to hold a combined 29th and 30th Convocation Ceremony, covering graduates from the 2024/25 and 2025/26 academic sessions. The ceremony is scheduled to take place from 12th to 23rd of August, 2026. The University has also increased the undergraduate convocation package fee to ₦70,000 (excluding portal charges).

Mayowa Shekoni is a 600-Level Medical student from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) and a seasoned student leader. #WeAreProud He has received several recognitions, including Best Coach of the Tournament (2021), LASUCOM Outlier (2022), LASUSU Ikeja Executive of the Year (2023/24), LASUMSA Ideal Medical Student (2024), and LASUMSA Leadership Award of Excellence (2025), amongst others. As a committed leader, he has served in various capacities, including: • PRO and Secretary, NULASS LASUCOM • General Secretary, Rotaract Club of LASUCOM • Vice President, LASUSU Ikeja • Head of Projects, Health Drive NG • President, LASUMSA (2025/2026) • Founder, Nephrine Tutors He has also led and pioneered impactful initiatives such as medical outreaches reaching over 1,500 people, free basic life support and first aid trainings, eco-friendly projects under Rotaract, and scholarship support for dedicated students within LASUMSA. Reflecting on his journey, he attributes his success to strategic collaboration and teamwork, despite challenges such as limited institutional support and financial constraints. Beyond leadership, he enjoys movies, games, exploring food, and is actively involved in research writing, with plans to venture into boxing. LASU Management has confirmed the receipt of NELFUND school fees payments for close to 7,500 beneficiary students Administrative processes are currently ongoing, and refunds will be credited to the accounts of affected students soon No letter submission is required for refunds.

Ameenat Hamzat Aderayo is a final-year Mass Communication student of Lagos State University whose journey has been defined by communication, leadership, and service. #WeAreProud Ameenat is a skilled public speaker, writer, and voice artist who has consistently stood out across campus and inter-school platforms. She secured the first runner up position at the World War 5 of the LASU Debate Society, emerged as winner of the 2022 JCIN University of Ibadan TOPF oratory contest, claimed the first runner up position at the 2021 JCIN Asiwaju Inter-Faculty speech contest, earning several top placements and recognition for her clarity, confidence, and delivery. Beyond the stage, she has taken on key leadership roles across student organisations, including JCIN LASU, JCIN Southwest, Student Media Personality Nigeria, and campus journalism platforms. She currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Association of Campus Journalists, LASU, where she continues to shape conversations and mentor young communicators. Her leadership journey wasn’t without challenges. From building visibility for student organisations to navigating personal loss, Ameenat remained resilient, channeling her experiences into impactful projects in advocacy and student development.
