@SunmiRomance @Ladynoirarebae I can certainly grasp the fact they have similarities, that's my entire point. Why are people not allowed to be uncomfortable while also acknowledging the name doesn't have to be changed because of that?

If you genuinely think “renardette” should be changed just cause it reminds you of a slur, go outside. The world doesn’t revolve around English language and the name is very cute. I speak French and the slur didn’t even come to mind 🫩

@zdimension_ @Ladynoirarebae Which brings me back to my point like, no there's nothing wrong the name. But there's also nothing wrong with people being uncomfortable if they're not making demands. They don't need to "touch grass" because they had a visceral reaction to something that reminded them of a slur

@lasylphide_ @Ladynoirarebae Being uncomfortable about something doesn't automatically mean the thing is bad I'll take an extreme example: many people are uncomfortable when seeing handicapped people, like in wheelchairs or missing limbs. It's a real feeling but it's not a good one and they should work on it

@lasylphide_ @Ladynoirarebae It's possible to understand why a person is uncomfortable while also thinking that person's uncomfortableness is illegitimate and dumb. If you're bothered by a black marker with "Black / Noir / Schwartz / Negro" written on it... that's a you problem, and you need to work on it

@lasylphide_ @Ladynoirarebae girl you're just mad at another language you don't understand. retard is used very very frequently in french, it means being late. the adjective form is retardataire, aka someone who's late. renard means fox, ette is a cute suffixe for little. fuck y'all uni anglophone brains.

@Ephemeral_100 @Ladynoirarebae Idk like it's just tiring because I didn't even disagree with the post, I was literally just saying there's a way to make that point while also acknowledging why people who have been affected by the r slur would have a visceral reaction to it. But as always no one gaf lmao

@Ephemeral_100 @Ladynoirarebae Replying here since you blocked me, yes I can call you out for lacking reading comprehension when... you completely misinterpreted my entire point. Like idk what else to say. You misinterpreted it. That's on you, not me.

@Ladynoirarebae "I'm NOT ignorant" comes across as defensive to me but okay. Literally the first thing I said was I agree it shouldn't be changed so I'm not sure what you're trying to argue against

@lasylphide_ Byeee I’m not getting defensive, I myself literally made a post where i said people calling renardette the r slur isn’t funny, but people asking for the name to be changed are lowkey exaggerating 🫩

@Ladynoirarebae Getting defensive because someone called you a little ignorant isn't really a great way to prove you're not lmao. I get the intention behind the name, I'm just saying I think it's understandable that the similarity to the r slur is gonna be uncomfortable for some people

@lasylphide_ I’m NOT ignorant, it’s literally “fox” and “ette” in French 🫩 RE-NAR-DETTE. In English you’d literally have “foxinette”

@cj110106 @knottedhairs The part you're missing is that this is a structural issue, not an interpersonal one. It's not about one person being selfish, it's about what incentivised him to do that in the first place

@knottedhairs Is this not just one guy choosing to be a selfish shithead be misgendering/deadnaming you in a way that anyone could choose to do to anyone else if they wanted to?

in hs, my bestie was a trans guy. by the time we got in college he was stealth and I barely started HRT. I met his new friends, and he misgendered and deadnamed me. once we were alone we he told me this was bc it would have been clocky of him to be okay with my gender

@sakurasyinseal I think YOU need better reading comprehension if you interpreted that as me "encouraging laziness" lmfao. Note how I said "solve the issue" indicating I agree there is an issue that I also want to solve. I'm just saying your approach to that makes no sense.

@lasylphide_ i don’t bully children. i tell them what it is and what it isn’t. in high school, you should be able to write 5 paragraphs in an hour , i’ve done more in less. you’re just encouraging laziness, stupidity, and the coddling of a failed generation.
