The women physicians around me continue to uplift me. S/o to @noellesinex and @areeba_kara who encouraged me to apply, the many @IUIntMed docs I get to work with, and the many I met at #sgim23 that offered support, including my 1:1 mentor @DheepaSekarMD. Feeling truly blest 🫶

It was not at all lost on me how good it felt being in a room full of people with that lens. Careerism produces a particular kind of sociality, but IME people who aspire to heal trauma are working on themselves. The product *can* be distinctly open communication and gentleness.

My favorite thing at #SGIM23 was the trauma interest group. We discussed how IPV is one of the only ways that medicine feels remotely responsible for engaging trauma. But trauma is a strong analytic and even physiologic basis for understanding a lot about health/society. 1/2
