After ~4 yrs of returning back from US, yesterday we started with our first international trip to UK. We will do some sightseeing in London, Cambridge, Bristol, Edinburgh, and Birmingham. If you are around these places, drop a message, and we can plan to meet.

Had a lovely day at @unibirmingham yesterday to celebrate the 80th of my PhD supervisor Jeff Cole & caught up with Jane Grove and Lesley Griffiths who together helped me become a vaguely competent bench scientist. Jeff still going strong with @MicrobioSoc etc.

While it was different to how I expected, I officially graduated today. I would therefore like to thank my supervisors @GavinHThomas and Christoph Baumann, alongside the Thomas Lab. It was a fantastic four years and I'm really going to miss York.

@asuph Climate change and the effects of this pandemic (social, economic, psychological) are my everyday anxieties. There is no way of quietening them down. Hope is a questionable word in my dictionary now.

I am making a plea to doctors in India to cut down the use of STEROIDS. Please.
Steroids are only useful after the patient is hypoxic. Harmful if given early, or given for too long

@DipshikhaGhosh It is heartbreaking! Thank you for giving them the chance to say goodbye! It means so much! My father died 10 years ago and I didn't get the chance to say goodbye. The nurses told us later that he was asking for me, my mother and brother in his last moments.

Today, towards the end of my shift, I video called the relatives of a patient who is not going to make it. We usually do that in my hospital if it’s something they want. This patient’s son asked for a few minutes of my time. He then sang a song for his dying mother.
