there needs to be a sociological study on why transplants love to wait in line. it's obviously not that the reward is worth it. you could open a store where you wait in line for 2 hours to get slapped in the face and 5,000 former Ohioans would show up the first day.

Just had a conversation with a dude outside of Gate A17 at Newark International Airport as flight #2269 outbound to Phoenix was delayed then deplaned for mechanical issues and got delayed again for 2 hours. But as I was sitting there enjoying my quad americano at Essa Bagel this disgruntled man from Tom’s River New Jersey needed a vent to let his steaming hot and or piss warm thoughts shoot out of and there I was providing an unsolicited voice of reason for a man in his mid 50’s suffering from what I assume to be a mid life crisis. And when I say piss warm and shoot in the same sentence I’m not saying this is a R. Kelly situation if you catch my drift but the highlighted line of the 17 minute conversation that I maybe got 6 words in was this: “Do you know why divorces are so expensive?” Me: ……. “Because they’re fucking worth it”. [Silence]* proceeded by laughter. He took a couple Percocets to calm down after. “I usually snort these but I don’t know how that works being in an airport”. The man offered me one. I politely declined and muttered I don’t have any pain to kill at the moment but thank you for gesture. He told me his doctor prescribed him a bottle of 300 percs for his feelings being hurt. Big Pharma is the best. When in doubt get someone hooked on opioids. That’s US steroid era baseball. I can’t imagine how high that guy is on his bird to Shreveport right now. He met a girl online and wanted to take things slow. So he flew across the country to see after exchanging under 10 messages. Pharmaceutical drugs, online speed dating and domestics. That’s what New Jersey is all about. Have a great day everyone -Swish

I told E if this was in NJ . Most counties would not even prosecute pot distribution . He would get PTI here . Pre Trial intervention . No record no jail and no admission of guilt . Then after year PTI and his case would be over.

Cannot stress enough that Brooklyn in the 90s was considered sketchy and mostly impassable. Even in Park Slope, which is now one giant playground for bourgeois parents, you had to be careful on 5th Avenue and most of 7th Avenue. Brooklyn Tech kids would get mugged constantly around Hoyt-Schermerhorn. "Flatbush Avenue" was mostly heard on the news paired with "there was a shooting today on"
