Apapa–Iganmu LCDA axis was thoroughly cleared by LAWMA operatives in the early hours of May 5, 2026. However, fresh incidents of illegal dumping were observed shortly after, thereby reversing the progress made. This recurring behaviour remains a major challenge to sustaining a cleaner Lagos. The State Government has been consistent and proactive with cleanup operations across affected areas, but lasting results require collective responsibility from residents and businesses. Enforcement across the axis will be intensified. Illegal dumping on medians and other unauthorized locations is an offence, offenders will be apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with the law. Residents are strongly advised to patronize only registered PSP operators and ensure timely payment for waste collection services. Proper waste disposal is not optional, it is a civic duty.
