NEW: Second Circuit denies Trump request for immediate stay of order directing court to disburse $5 million, plus post-judgment interest, to E. Jean Carroll:

He notes Carroll has vowed to "give away" what she recovers from him. Therefore, once the funds are "distributed to third parties, they likely will not be recoverable— rendering any stay this Court might later grant, and any relief President Trump might later obtain on appeal, ineffective."

NEW: Trump moves, in the Second Circuit, for an immediate, administrative stay of the order directing disbursement of funds to E. Jean Carroll. He's asking for an administrative stay so the court can consider his as-yet-unfiled motion for a stay pending appeal. 1/

NEW: Late last night, Trump’s new lawyer told SDNY Judge Lew Kaplan that E. Jean Carroll is not entitled to disbursement of the first $5 million-plus jury award. Why? Because he has a pending petition for rehearing at SCOTUS, which denied cert last month. 1/

The only problem? In an entry dated yesterday, the petition was not accepted for filing. Trump’s brief to Kaplan was filed at 11:49 pm. 2/
