@JasonGMatheny @RANDCorporation How about expanding RAND's work to include "retrodiction" markets? See here: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

Today is @RANDCorporation's 75th anniversary. I'm humbled by the pioneers and innovators who came before us, and I'm so grateful to everyone serving RAND today. As the examples below demonstrate, your work really can change the world for the better.
RAND@RANDCorporation
For 75 years, decisionmakers around the world have turned to RAND for help solving the most complex and consequential public policy challenges. In honor of our anniversary this week, here are just a few highlights through the decades. 🧵 bit.ly/3MbF4o9

@IamTonyBanner @ProfessorPujol C'mon man, given their QB's past performance in clutch moments, don't tell me Dallas would have won that game!
English

@ProfessorPujol @lawscholar Yeah, but there is no way they could do that. Dallas still had over 20 seconds on the clock, 2 timeouts, and a crazy good kicker. So there's no way of knowing whether Lions would hold on for the win. I'm a huge Lions fan. We were flat-out robbed and can't do shit about it.

@robertltsai @akapczynski @LPEblog @LPE_Project Making it easier to amend the Constitution could be very dangerous; see "Gödel’s Loophole": papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

It’s going to take more than a few extra justices or term limits to rescue our political order from its 18th-century doldrums. Thoughts from @akapczynski, Aziz Rana, and me for @LPEblog. @LPE_Project bit.ly/3JVn5z2

@WilliamBaude @amaricas_const alas, the revised article does not even begin to address the basic due process concerns and logical fallacies that I raised in my brief reply essay here: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

Mike Paulsen and I went on to @amaricas_const once more to talk about developments and criticisms of our Section Three article. (Here is the article if you haven't seen it: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…)
Amarica's Constitution@amaricas_const
Our episode is up on a Tuesday this week - early, because the Colorado Supreme Court is considering its decision in the 14th Amendment Sec.3 case regarding disqualification of Trump. The leading experts: Will Baude and Michael Stokes Paulsen, are back. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ama…

@birdsarentreal PS: even a mind as logical as Kurt Gödel’s was not immune to conspiracy thinking. Gödel had posited the existence of a centuries-long conspiracy to conceal the work of German polymath Gottfried Leibniz: ir.stthomas.edu/ustjlpp/vol15/…

@birdsarentreal As an aside, even a mind as logical and rigorous as Kurt Gödel’s was not immune to conspiracy thinking. Gödel had posited the existence of a centuries-long conspiracy to conceal the work of German polymath Gottfried Leibniz; see: ir.stthomas.edu/ustjlpp/vol15/…

@brianlfrye hypothesis: artists are rent-seekers in disguise, no better than the rest of the crony capitalist world!
English

It’s interesting that so many people seem to find this observation objectionable, even though it is quite banal. AI promises to free us from the burden of being boring. I would have expected artists to be delighted.
Brian L. Frye@brianlfrye
The whiners are so boring. If you can’t compete with a bullshit generator, you were never an “artist.” Art is a good consumers don’t understand. You’re just complaining about competition.
