@Vitrazas @CaledorianMage It's a lot of fun reading your guys posts about the whfrpg game you're having, reminds me of the fun I've had in it
English

In today’s session: The Elf calls the wrong dragon

Dragon Prince Aesandril@CaledorianMage
So far in our WHFRP game no less than three out of five members of our party have heard the rumor that a dragon is currently causing problems in Stirland, but every time it's come up, my Asur hasn't been nearby enough to hear it. I speak dragon! Let me talk!
English

@_Jyggalag_ Thank you^ I've got a copy but never got around to reading much of it. It'd be amazing if they did one of these for each kingdom, but that'd probably be a bit too much of an ask for a TTRPG handbook series.
English

@arun0fdringz @Jackson61689330 Please keep asur posting this looks so cool
English

We need to get the dwarfs in on Druchii killing
rune sword@runesword1
i love when elves have a civil war. you can just show up and start killing elves and elves will cheer you on
English

@arun0fdringz the funny thing about this is she is basically just that powerful against most elves. in the tyrion/teclis trilogy the druchii general trying to capture her has to fight the supernatural aura she radiates in order to restrain her and not just kneel in her presence
English

@_Jyggalag_ @BrandonGuizot Wait really, how? I suppose the elves could enchant their bolts?
English

@BrandonGuizot Canonically Eagle Claws did stop that. In the only naval battle I've ever found between Dwarfs and High Elves, High Elves won decisively against Dwarf ironclads.
English

@CaledorianMage Thank you! I remember multiple passages of them talking in the sundering trilogy but could not recall any concrete line about how they do it. I appreciate the clarification
English

@lbrahana Master of Dragons presents it that they have a largely non-verbal form of communication that they prefer, but they are capable of speech when needed.

English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart With all due respect I honestly think you're lost in your own righteousness
English

@lbrahana @TearShapedHeart Why do you treat that as an excuse to not do anything then.
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart I'm not sure why you are acting as if this is akin to the sky being blue. Especially since you've had other trans women speak against your view. That at least suggests things aren't as clear cut as you think them to be.
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart Your lived experience and perhaps some people you know, which is perfectly valid for you, which is why I think this amounts to personal preference.
English

@lbrahana @TearShapedHeart The lens I'm looking at this through is the lived experience of trans women.
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart If you look at it through your absolutist lens for the use of this language, then yes, that is the case. I don't think it is as clear cut though.
English

@lbrahana @TearShapedHeart They aren't, in both cases trans women are asked to ignore the fact they live in a gendered society and experience gender.
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart Thats apples to oranges, frankly. The use of "what the hell man" as part of a very real cultural shift in how language is used, and trans women being scorned for embracing femininity, are entirely different matters and of different proportion.
English

@lbrahana @TearShapedHeart I hear this shit constantly. Whenever trans women want to wear feminine clothing, or voice train, or medically transition, or not want to be called men apparently, someone will always say "oh but aren't you just reinforcing gender roles if you do that?"
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart Im afraid I cant really get your ultimate point. I do rly think that so long as no personal requests are ignored its an okay practice that represents language becoming less explicitly masculine and that giving it the weight of a insult only reinforces traditional norms
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart I suppose we can't really agree here. I do genuinely understand some of the points you've made here and your feelings behind this and honestly tried to have a good faith take at trying to see if I've been a bit closed minded myself since I do think you are well intentioned.
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart Someone intentionally using the wrong pronouns is objectively insulting, someone saying "what the hell man" isnt because, in this context, we know it isnt misgendering. Thats exactly why intention *isnt* worthless in this context.
English

@lbrahana @TearShapedHeart Something doesn't need to somehow be "objectively" insulting to be an insult. Dismissing this as just "personal preference" doesn't work, because all insults are based on personal preference.
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart I think having common gendered words become more and more unisex and less rigid in its use is generally a good thing for breaking down gender norms and social barriers. That isn't to say gender is meaningless, but I think its could make for a positive cultural shift.
English

@ActuallyOmegon @TearShapedHeart Yes, not every person needs to recognise something for it to be bad, but that can be said for a multitude of things that aren't necessarily objectively insulting or bigoted. I get your passion but I really do think this boils down to personal preference.
