This is one of the problems with $ETH and PoS. The system is not distributing the coins in a fair enough manner that still incentivizes all individuals to play. Everyone will learn to HODL #Bitcoin instead.

#Bitcoin needed to be distributed in the most fair manner possible. It would not have been adopted without its Proof of Work distribution method that occurs over time. Its unique monetary properties combined with PoW issuance ensure its long term success.

Price stays relatively in line with human/society adoption so no one is ever too late to benefit from playing the game of hodling #Bitcoin . Since no one is ever “too late”, everyone still wants to HODL.
