I might go so far as to say that Before Sunset is a perfect film. The third one has a more grounded and mature outlook on the reality of love, but for me nothing can top the fairy tale magic of that second film.

They’re all excellent, but the second one has a unique energy that comes from its perfect narrative setup: the romantic tension of the first film but now with added stakes, the ticking clock of the impending plane flight, and the real-time pacing that completely immerses you.

Joyland Editions will open to un-agented submissions from March 1-March 31. Writers should submit a PDF of their complete manuscript (~20,000-60,000 words) and a cover letter no longer than one single-spaced page including a brief author bio and description of the work.
