Looks increasingly like he was the one who flagged the missing 2.5M and if that's the case, it exposes the brutal truth in this country that people who come forward are not protected, they are exposed, suspended, and dragged through the mud. When his own party failed to recognise his true worth, The ruling party made the smarter call. Credit to President AKD for choosing meritocracy over party politics, for placing the right person in the right role, rather than siding to party loyalty. Looking at the interim committee, what stands out is balance. The industry specialists, financial minds, legal expertise, strong female representation and the leadership. I’m sure it was Eran who recommended the names. Many would agree that some of the finest minds in our political landscape presently have spent years on the opposition benches, without the opportunity to truly govern. So, appointments like this- at least aimed at restoring a game we all cherish is a refreshing signal, that real progress requires looking outside ones own camp and President AKD has acknowledged it with this appointment. Wishing the interim committee led by Eran Wickramaratne the very best!

These monks get arrested coming from Thailand. But how did their phones get unlocked, private photos pulled out, and blasted all over media? Some of those images are intimate. Some reportedly involve minors. How is that even legal? Those photos didn’t publish themselves. Someone with authority at the airport took them, circulated them, and outlets ran with it. This is a straight-up violation of fundamental rights. Privacy. Dignity. Basic human decency. As a Editor working exclusively on digital media, I have seen this before. When that university girl was murdered at Racecourse, her blood-soaked belongings, her NIC, even her address were being passed around like content. Media showed up at her house within hours, harassing a grieving family. Some of us refused to touch that material. Plenty didn’t. And the worst part? Police were right there then too. Letting people into an active crime scene. So I’ll ask again, who is accountable for this? Why is no one calling this out?
