Out of Cuba now otw home and finally have access to the internet I’m having a hard time putting into words the thoughts I have on my experience there the past couple days. The level of cruelty that the oil blockade the US imposes on the day-to-day lives of everyday Cubans cannot be overstated. Everyday conveniences and essential services that we take for granted are completely non-existent. Entire systems, that were already dilapidated by decades of sanctions and restrictions from participating globally, start to break down exponentially when you remove fuel from the equation. The innovation required to accomplish the most basic tasks is astounding. People existing at night in complete darkness from the blackouts, just trying their best to lead normal lives in spite of the lack of power. Yet every Cuban person I met was extremely kind, patient, and welcoming. The resilience the people of the island have is extremely admirable and heartbreaking to witness. Cuba is a beautiful place with amazing people and insane potential. What the US has done to that island is shameful and nothing short of inhumane

This is genuinely brilliant coverage of Israel's destruction of Gaza by ITV. It's the sort of coverage which we should have expected throughout by the Western media - if they had accurately reported on one of the great crimes of our age.

Feeling deeply for everyone in the UK right now. It’s unsettling to see people being forced to hand over ID or scan their face just to access online spaces, places for community, creativity, or even just escape. This isn’t safety. It’s surveillance. And it doesn’t stop there. Visa and Mastercard are quietly pressuring platforms to censor legal, fictional content, cutting off payments to creators not because they break the law, but because they offend someone’s personal values. What we’re seeing isn’t protection. It’s control, over speech, art, and access. Adults deserve the freedom to choose what they engage with, without being watched, flagged, or shut out. Think of all those pro-Israel pundits you saw on your television screens this past year trying to sociopathically justify the mass starvation of Gaza by robotically claiming Hamas steals the aid. They were all lying. Shamelessly. Even the Israeli military confirms it now.
