Ghana just became the 124th country in the world to abolish the death penalty!!! Ghana is the 29th country in Africa to abolish. There are now 170 countries that have banned the death penalty in law or in practice. The US is one of only a handful of countries still executing people. We are usually one of the top 5 and always one of the top 10 countries with the most executions.
