@EbiePipeOrgan Great to see 69! We sang it in my ward but not too many were familiar with it. I wonder if it’ll be moved to be next to the Easter hymns in the next hymnal.

Weekly check-in! What hymns did/will your ward sing today?
Also, here’s a more technical analysis of the new sacrament hymns and how their introduction have affected the existing sacrament hymns. hymnstats.joeystanley.com/posts/sacramen…

Weekly check-in! What hymns did/will your ward sing this week in church?
Still not enough from the sixth batch for a full bog post, but they’re slowly trickling in.
In the meantime, here’s a revamped my first post, which looked at sacrament hymns.

@JustPast2Nephi Whoa, a rare occurrence of a sacrament hymn as an opening hymn. #177 is the second most common sacrament hymn to be sung that way, after I Stand All Amazed. It’s an opening hymn about 1.16% of the time it’s sung.
English

@EbiePipeOrgan I’ve heard as much as anyone else. I think last I heard it’ll be early 2027? So possibly 4 more batches? We’ll just start a second folder in my ward.
English

@ldshymnstats Do we have any idea when the actual hymnal will be released? The binders are getting pretty full. Wondering if you’d heard anything.

@theatomicmom @kathyballardwvc I understand the paper thing, although we probably use more paper on printed programs than on hymns to be fair.
English

@ldshymnstats @kathyballardwvc I hate paper, I hate that we're making 1000s of copies all over the church, for every building. I wish everyone would sing off their devices. But I've found that ppl sing better off of sheet music. There are some new songs, we'll never sing as long as I'm picking. 😆
English

@theatomicmom @kathyballardwvc Interesting idea. I figure it’s easier to add a few more every few months than swap them out so often. You can justify it by trying to sing all of them!
English

@kathyballardwvc @ldshymnstats I've stopped copying all of the new music. I've moved to slim folders with just that month's new hymns in it. It's a pain to have to change the music out every month, but it's better than using paper on songs we're never going to sing in SacMtg. Sorry, not sorry, Little Light

English

@theatomicmom It’s interesting because I feel like when the first and maybe second batches came out, people were willing to change plans to sting them soon. Not so much anymore. The novelty has worn off.
English

@ldshymnstats And I had to laugh, the 6th batch was released, literally 5 mins after I'd finished planning March & April's music. So those hymns will have their turn another day, although they seemed to be more appropriate for Primary.
English

@theatomicmom Ours went long because we’d had some visitors that each went pretty long!
English

@ldshymnstats i always choose shorter songs for Fast Sunday & High Council Sundays because I never know if the meeting is going to go long or short. Today we went short b/c the sister who usually gets up & gives a 15 min "testimony" has moved out of the ward. It was a quiet meeting. 😆
