Doctors are manually operating ventilators in order to keep babies alive in Cuba. The U.S. is laying siege cruelly cut off all fuel, power is out, leaving hospitals without electricity. Dialysis patients, babies in NICU, and others will die. This’s a crime against humanity.

Chloe woke up at 6:45am and immediately felt proud of herself. She had, after all, not eaten a single animal product in four years. The planet was healing. She could feel it. 6:52am - Applied her morning SPF. The SPF contains beeswax. Chloe does not know this. Moving on. 7:10am - Breakfast: a smoothie containing avocado. The avocado was grown in Michoacán, Mexico, on land where a pine forest was until 2019. It required approximately 320 litres of water to produce. It was flown to the UK. Chloe sprinkled hemp seeds on top. The hemp seeds came from China. Chloe felt connected to the earth. 8:00am - Got dressed. Polyester leggings, derived from crude oil. A bamboo top that was processed using carbon disulphide in a Taiwanese chemical plant. Trainers with a recycled plastic upper that sheds microplastics into waterways with every wash. Chloe's outfit today had a higher carbon footprint than a ribeye steak. Chloe does not know this either. 9:30am - Posted on Instagram about choosing compassion. The phone was manufactured in a Shenzhen factory using cobalt from the DRC, where mining operations have displaced local communities and killed an unknowable number of small mammals, reptiles, and insects. The algorithm served Chloe an ad for oat milk. Chloe liked it. 12:00pm - Lunch: tofu stir-fry. The soy was grown in Brazil. Brazil produces more soy than almost any country on earth. The primary reason is soybean oil: one of the most widely used industrial and culinary oils on the planet. The soymeal left over after oil extraction is fed to livestock as a byproduct. Chloe is aware of the livestock connection and finds it outrageous. She has not looked into why the soy was grown in the first place. The answer is the oil. The oil is in her salad dressing. 1:30pm - Drove to the garden centre. The car runs on petrol. Chloe has a Just Stop Oil sticker on the bumper. This is not being commented on further. 3:00pm - Bought a monstera. The monstera was grown in a Dutch greenhouse using natural gas heating. Chloe put it next to the pothos that is slowly poisoning the neighbourhood cats. 6:00pm - Dinner: pasta with cashew cream sauce. The cashews were processed in Vietnam, often by workers in conditions that would prompt significant commentary if they were in an abattoir. 8:00pm - Watched a documentary about factory farming. Wept. Posted about it. Caption: "We have to do better." Chloe is, by every measure she has chosen to measure by, doing brilliantly. By some of the others, the picture is more complicated. Chloe has not chosen to measure by those.

Israel kidnapped a one year old child and, for ten hours, burned the child with cigarettes right in front of the father, and drove nails into the child's feet. Osama Abu Nassar was near the border east of Al-Maghazi when Israeli soldiers opened fire. A quadcopter drone forced him to leave his 18-month-old son Karim on the ground and walk toward the checkpoint, where he was stripped and detained. Soldiers then brought the child. According to witnesses and the medical report, they burned Karim's leg with cigarettes and drove a metal nail into his foot. Karim was released after 10 hours through the Red Cross. His father is still detained. The family is calling on international institutions to intervene for his release so he can continue his psychological treatment, which he was already receiving before any of this happened. This is not an accusation. It is a medical report and eyewitness testimony about a toddler. Via- Mohammed Aabed.

Verlagen uitkering arbeidsongeschikten treft alleen hogere inkomens?

Serieus. Dus mantelzorgers nemen zorgtaken over. Werk dat anders door professionals gedaan wordt. Onbetaald. Intensief. Vaak jarenlang.

You thought Epstein Island was bad? Israel built the only military prison in the world designated for children. Children are subjected to beatings, torture, and rape on a regular basis. Conviction rates in courts reach 99.7%. This applies only to non-jewish children.

Doris is suffering. Doris does not know she is suffering. The suffering has been inferred from a photograph posted on social media by someone who visited the fell in August, stood at the gate for four minutes, and looked at Doris looking back at them. "She looked so sad," the caption read. "Standing there alone in the rain. No shelter. Just staring." Let's assess the evidence. The rain: Doris has grazed through eleven consecutive days of horizontal Lake District rain without reducing her hours. The rain does not constitute suffering for an animal wrapped in eight centimetres of lanolin-coated fleece that actively repels moisture. The fleece is not a fashion choice. The fleece is a biological weather system. The aloneness: Doris is in a fell with other sheep. She grazes at distance from them because fell sheep are not herding animals in the lowland sense. They distribute across the landscape. Doris is not isolated. Doris is optimally positioned. The stare: Doris can recognise up to fifty individual sheep faces and ten human faces and remembers them for two years. She was not staring sadly. She was filing you. The shelter: the spot behind the east wall where Doris sleeps on cold nights is four degrees warmer than the exposed fell and has been her chosen location on every comparable night since her first winter. She did not look sad in August. She looked at the gate visitor in the specific way a prey animal looks at an unknown presence: assessing, not emoting. This is the anthropomorphism problem. We look at an animal experiencing its natural environment in the way it evolved to experience it, doing the things it is built to do, in conditions it is designed for, and we project onto it the emotional state we would have if we were standing in that field in those conditions. We would be cold. We would be lonely. We would look sad. Doris is not us. Doris is a fell sheep on a fell. The fell is what she is. The rain is her element. The aloneness is her preference. The stare is cognition, not grief. Doris's cortisol: normal, per the vet's annual check. Doris's welfare domains: no concerns across all five, per the farmer's records. Doris's opinion of the caption: she has filed the photographer's face. Doris will remember that face for two years. Doris is grazing. Doris has always been fine. We are the ones who needed the shelter.
