How well does yearling (Y) data predict lifetime (LT) performance? Data from @MerinoLink MLP project. Y data to LT, correlation of 0.83 A2 (2yr old) to LT performance, correlation of 0.96

Cataloguing nearly complete, 1300 rams sorted. They are looking in great shape considering they have had zero supplementary feeding in their life, performing in the paddock where it counts. Industry leading ASBV’s to back it up.

Great feedback at Bendigo and Keith field days last week. The balance of carcass and wool quality and quantity with fertility on an easy care animal is exactly what the industry is looking for. Home and straight into shearing these pregnant 14 month old ewes with 8 months wool

Loading tags into the Turbo Tagger from Shearwell while watching the footy, good bit of gear this. Wrapping up round 1 of lamb marking tomorrow. This has saved a labour unit on the marking cradle. 1 person can tag and take DNA’s, efficiency is key

Had the pregnant ewe lambs in for a condition score and weigh as part of a trial being run across Australia conducted by @TrompfJason. Running them in steep hill country to keep their fitness levels up, in prep for their big day.

Lowest rainfall for June/July in history, numerous frosts. Pastures at Snowtown are depleted, sheep have been turned onto crops. Great test for the rams, no flash feeding regime fooling anyone
