It’s not sorrow that weighs the heaviest, but the constant effort of holding everything together while slowly coming apart.

Love didn’t end all at once—it faded slowly, and that quiet unraveling exhausted me more than loss ever could. I carried, I gave, I endured, until even the feeling of being okay felt out of reach.

I grew tired of being the one who gave more than I had, always present for others yet unable to show up for myself. I grew tired of watching people change, of accepting distance disguised as growth, of staying while everyone else learned how to leave.
