Estrogen Dominance & weight 101 There will be a TEST after you've read this so let us know when you have read it and are ready! Let's do a little more clarification of how Estrogen Dominance influences weight gain & difficulty in losing fat & then I will put out a poll to test your comprehension 😀 An elevated estrogen to progesterone ratio contributes to weight gain through a few mechanisms: 1. Estrogen & Progesterone are two key hormones that play a role in metabolism. When estrogen levels are relatively higher compared to progesterone, it can lead to metabolic imbalances that affect how the body stores and processes nutrients. This can potentially promote fat accumulation, particularly in areas like the hips and thighs 2. Estrogen dominance, where estrogen levels are high relative to progesterone, can negatively affect insulin sensitivity. This can lead to increased blood sugar levels and a greater likelihood of storing excess glucose as fat, contributing to weight gain 3. Elevated estrogen levels can also lead to water retention and bloating, which may temporarily increase body weight. While this is not fat gain per se, it can still affect body composition and the number on the scale 4. Estrogen influences appetite and satiety signals in the body. Imbalances in estrogen and progesterone levels can lead to disruptions in these signals, potentially causing increased hunger and cravings, which could contribute to overeating and weight gain. 5. Hormonal imbalances can affect where the body stores fat. An elevated estrogen to progesterone ratio may lead to more fat being stored in certain areas, such as the abdomen, which is associated with increased health risks 6. Circulating Estrogen w/o enough Progesterone to antagonize it stimulates a rise in TBG (Thyroid-Binding Globulin) TBG attaches to T4 & T3 & makes them inactive for use by the body. This lowered Thyroid function slows metabolism & leads to weight gain 7. Estrogen dominance causes an increase in Cortisol. Cortisol puts the brakes on fat loss

@helenmeltz It's not just about what you eat but the most effective way of eating for peri & post menopausal women is #LCHPMF. You also need at least some targeted nutritional supplementation to optimize hormonal re-balance and you may even need USP #BHRT replacement

#Menopause Low #estrogen levels change where fat is stored. It's normally stored in the thighs & hips, but when estrogen production falls, fat storage shifts to visceral fat in your belly. Not only is visceral fat deeper, but it's tough to remove & increases health risk factors

Liver is the ultimate super nutrient dense power food. But here’s the real kicker. Liver tastes great if you want it to. Those who choose to hold on to the limiting belief that it’s disgusting, just don’t know how to cook, experiment w/ food prep or just like to argue limitations

Women & men post 45 yo. As hormones begin to naturally decline, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin tends to⬆️. SHBG binds to your already falling levels of Estrogen, Testosterone & Dihydrotestosterone making them unavailable = weight gain (not good). Mag, Vit D, Fish oil & Zinc⬇️SHBG
