@rfbogardus Thanks for reading! I'm looking forward to writing about it once it's done and open for business. Walked the grounds with Billie Tsien last November and wrote this: chicago.suntimes.com/architecture-d…

First serious, thoughtful report on the Obama Center that I’ve seen. It’s a building design based on the inside/outside, a practice of Williams/Tsien, if I recall. I’ve suggested that the tower is like a Tuscan hill-town watch tower in a hostile world, & I like photos of it. /1

My architecture column today. If approved this afternoon, the building’s most significant features including the complex’s dazzling Jazz Age first-and second-floor lobby spaces would be protected. chicago.suntimes.com/architecture-d…

Today's architecture column. "Pride Cleaners is the kind of attention-grabbing roadside modernism found in places like Palm Springs, California, and not often in broad shouldered Chicago. A building like that is bound to fire-up an artist’s imagination."

My latest architecture column. "The organization is calling for architects, designers, neighborhood groups, artists, innovators and interdisciplinary teams to submit visionary ideas that explore what Chicago could look like in 2050." chicago.suntimes.com/architecture-d…

She is so captivating! Love her in Ganja and Hess🩸

Its a damn shame that Marlene Clark isnt spoken among the female greats of horror. She is absolutely magnetic in two of the great underrated 70s horror films - Ganja and Hess, Lord Shango. She was in Switchblade Sisters as well which alone should demand recognition
