Last summer we wanted to loan Anselmino to Strasbourg, however, he refused as he wanted to play UCL. We allowed him to make his own decision and join Dortmund. Dortmund knew there was no buy option, they knew he was in our future plans, they knew they were developing him for us. Still, they decided to play dirty by attempting to turn his head so that he could force a permanent exit in the summer. This is extremely disrespectful by Dortmund. Because of this, Chelsea acted as any club with self-respect would and recalled him. We now want him to follow the path that we initially had planned for him – which is objectively fantastic for his development, and likely also an 18 month loan which means he can actually settle down for a while. If he doesn't want this then he has the final say but if he wants to have a top career he better have something really f*cking good in mind. As much as he is a human being he is also a contractually obligated professional who willingly signed a long-term contract fully aware of the plan we had for him, which was to loan him out until he's deemed ready.
