The immediate statement should have made the point that the prospect of a sporting sanction is outrageous, every effort and achievement of our players on the pitch throughout the season will be fiercely protected, we understand that there is a 72 hour limit beyond which opponents can be scouted and we will investigate if this time limit was breached. Southampton football club will take the maximum 14 days to respond further, after which the playoffs will have been concluded entirely on the pitch. If we’d run with that you’d all be going to Wembley. #SaintsFC

I was confident I could of played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had. I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision.
