Do you think after Simon had dealt with the loss of his mother who had died back on Mars(?) He started to come to deep realization how important it is to be alive in such an apocalyptic time. So, he made it his sole determination to stay alive for his mom & might’ve feared death?

That is not selfish to me one bit btw. Simon is a true example of humanity and I will stand by this!! He’s stubborn!! and resilient!! (even when he dies all he can think about is how important it is to do what he does for the sake of other people’s LIVES)
