@lefty_6717 🤣 I know it’s an Aaron Rodgers post, so I get it. But underneath it, this is really a “I’m concerned for the Steelers fantasy environment” post.

Here's my 2 cents on the Aaron Rodgers 1-year deal. This feels like the exact type of Steelers move that prevents a total collapse but also prevents the clean reset. If Rodgers is healthy, this team likely has enough structure, defense, run game, and veteran QB decision-making to avoid being awful. That is how you end up 9–8 or 10–7, maybe in the playoff mix, and once again out of range for the clean QB solution. On the flipside, the downside is also real. If Rodgers misses time or the age cliff hits hard, the offense can get bad fast. Behind him, you’re talking about inexperienced/low-certainty QB options in Howard and Allar. The entire offense could become fragile: fewer sustained drives, fewer red-zone chances, lower play volume, and more games where the pass catchers need one broken play to save their week. This has potential to become a bottom 5 fantasy environment- not necessarily a bottom 5 NFL team.

Sources: Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers now have reached agreement on a one-year deal. Rodgers officially is reuniting with the Steelers and their new head coach Mike McCarthy for the 2026 season.

The Wizards’ three-year tank has remade their roster with young talent, but they still don’t have a foundational star. Sunday’s Lottery could put them in position to get one. My guy @JoshuaBRobbins & I lay out the scenarios in @TheAthletic (free to read): nytimes.com/athletic/72554…

I think Adam Silver, and his team, has done more overthinking to ruin the NBA product more than any other league in American sports. Why the FREAK(!) would you de-incentivize team building with harsh 1st and 2nd aprons and then PENALIZE teams for tanking (acquiring good young players on rookie contracts) when you’ve built in a mechanism that penalizes teams for having too many (well-paid) good young players? The aprons have essentially massacred title windows for teams who want to take aim at repeating in the 2020s by forcing them to gut their own rosters to mitigate the risk of incurring tax penalties in the hundreds of millions. And then if you have a BAD contract on your roster the burden of that contract can essentially bury your team for years to come. It doesn’t make sense.
Tim Reynolds@ByTimReynolds

New lottery/anti-tanking plan that has emerged, pre sources: - 16 teams in what is called a 3-2-1 format - Bottom 3 teams will get 2 lottery balls and 5.4% odds of winning - Teams 4-10 get 3 lottery balls and 8.1% chance of winning. - Would take effect 2027, run through 2029

How do first round rookie WRs perform in fantasy football? Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, Makai Lemon, KC Concepcion and Omar Cooper Jr all heard their names called in the 1st round of this year’s NFL Draft. Tate was the 5th WR drafted in the top 5 over the last 10 seasons. In the previous 10 drafts (2016-2025), 42 WRs were drafted in the first round. Their average fantasy football finish is WR #56 - a caution against buying into rookie hype in redraft formats. Brian Thomas Jr holds the record for best fantasy finish in his rookie season, ranking as the WR #4. Ja’Marr Chase finished as WR #5 in his rookie season, whilst Malik Nabers and Justin Jefferson both finished WR #6. A total of 5 rookie WRs have finished in the top 12, whilst 6 have finished as WR 13-24. The most common fantasy ranking for WRs drafted in the first round was 25-48.
