Hats off to all the women’s football clubs & teams who have all shared a minute’s silence in memory of Amelia Aplin the 15 year old @OfficialOUWFC who tragically passed away recently even though many would not have known her, sometimes in tragedy unity is borne

#HappyMothersDay My son Charlie has had such a tough year. He lost his dad, and at the same time he’s had to watch me, his mum, battle cancer. No child should have to face that, but he has shown more strength than I ever thought possible. One of the places he’s found comfort this year is on the football pitch playing grassroots football for Weston Youth. Watching him pull on his shirt, run out there and just be a kid again fills me with so much pride and emotion. In those moments, nothing else matters. I also want to say a huge thank you to the amazing coaches at Weston Youth who have been absolute rocks for my boy Charlie. Your support, kindness and encouragement have meant the world to both of us. Today reminds me not to take a single moment for granted. The little moments, the smiles, the muddy boots, the sidelines — they mean everything. Charlie, you make me the proudest mum every single day. 💙⚽️
