The current Star Citizen free-fly ends at UTC2000 on the 30th-and you can currently borrow (or "rent" for free) nearly any ship in the game by dropping by the rental kiosks in the basement of the Zenith hall at the Tobin Expo Center (follow the red signs all over New Babbage ;) )

Free-fly's still happening, until the 30th :) Remember to use my code (STAR-F3V9-NVLK), and don't pledge if you don't feel it! Basically all ships in the game will be rentable at the kiosks in the spaceports for the last couple of days, too. Oh, and visit the expo! :)

...at least until the 8th of December, when it's due to increase up to its intended full price. Also, if you want to nab Squadron 42 as well, that'll be offered for an extra 20 quid at checkout (it'll look weird when it's offered, but it'll become 20 when you add it to the cart).

An update on that recommendation for what ship to get - the introductory offer on the Drake Cutter starter game package ( robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Package… ) is currently by a long way the best value starter package...

@wstephenson Kind of! There's one every three months or so, roughly, but they're not quite evenly spread out - but yes, there's also a lot of stuff that's starting to kind of coalesce at the moment, too, which is interesting in a sort of "watching things happen" way :)
