As always, a pleasure to meet the Finance Minister and team in Thimphu. It has been a privilege to represent the Royal Government of Bhutan at the World Bank Board these past 3 years. The high point was the Board’s approval of the transformational Dorjilung hydropower project.

International Conference on Sustainable Hydropower Development in the Himalayas was inaugurated and addressed by the Minister of Finance of Bhutan @lekeydorji and Ambassador of India today at Paro, Bhutan. Co-organized by India's CBIP @cbip_india, INCOLD @INCOLD_India & Bhutan's DGPC, it was also attended by the Minister of Infrastructure & Transport of Bhutan, over 150 Indian, Bhutanese and other participants representing businesses, policy-makers, experts and research institutes towards mutual learning, knowledge sharing, best practices and emerging developments in the field of hydropower & clean energy.
