So, Ben Jamal and I have been convicted for organising a peaceful protest against genocide in a bizarre decision by one judge. This is a big attack on civil liberties. We will appeal. We call for a massive mobilisation in support of the Palestinian people for Nakba on 16 May.
Stop the War Coalition@STWuk

This is an extraordinary and shocking decision and a huge set back for civil liberties Watch @ChrisNineham speaking outside the court after guilty verdict

Imagine if Iran bombed and destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge in California, what would you call it? TERRORISTS The U.S bombed and destroyed the highest bridge in Iran, the B1 bridge, why do you call it “PEACE”? Bombing a bridge is a war crime under international humanitarian law

Why doesn't the media talk about the peacekeepers killed by Israel in Lebanon? Israel deliberately killed three UN Indonesian peacekeeper and wounded others in Lebanon. Israel cannot continue to be treated as a full member of the UN. Attacking UN peacekeepers is an abomination which was in the past perpetrated by terrorists, but never by members of the UN. Some of you pretended to care what the UN had to say in 1948. Do you care that the UN of today has had more UN personnel killed in the last 2 years than in its history. This is the moment we can salvage what remains of the UN and international law. I call on everyone to unite for the sake of our humanity and to end impunity for violating international law.

I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran. This is a picture of Tehran. For you uneducated, untraveled, never-served, warhawks licking your chops at the thought of bombing it. It's not some low population desert. There are families, children, family pets. Regular working class people with dreams. You're sick to want war. Tehran is a city of nearly 10,000,000 people. Imagine nuking Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, or beyond, bombed with nuclear weapons. I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late. Yesterday, nearly ten million people protested “No Kings” in the United States. The possibility of the use of nuclear weapons must be taken very seriously. It's dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide. Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future. Only the people can stop it. History will remember us.

a nuclear scientist just got killed in an airstrike in Iran and honestly i need to talk about this because western media won't & i think most people don't understand what they're looking at as i've been explaining for weeks now in multiple threads, Israel through Mossad has been assassinating Iranian scientists for over a decade and i genuinely think the Fakhrizadeh case is one of the most terrifying operations in modern intelligence history this man was killed in 2020 by a remote controlled ai-powered machine gun smuggled into Iran in pieces over several months, the whole thing weighed a ton, it was mounted on a pickup truck on the side of the road and operated via satellite from a Mossad command center 1 600 km away, 15 bullets fired in under 60 seconds, the AI compensated for the satellite delay the recoil and the speed of the car in real time, that's how far they're willing to go to eliminate Iranian brainpower one by one but here's what i find fascinating, the assassinations didn't break the ecosystem because it runs too deep, so they escalated, US just bombed Iran's university of science and technology, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country and if you've been following me you already know why this matters these are the same institutions that took Iran from 58th to 4th in the world in nanotechnology in 20y that produce the engineers who designed the Arvand rocket engine and the maneuverable reentry vehicles, that trained the physicists behind the MRBM to IRBM leap to 4 000 km on Diego Garcia, i've been writing about this scientific ecosystem for years and everything happening right now is the logical continuation of what i already laid out and i think that's the part nobody wants to say out loud, this war was never about nukes or regime change, i believe it's about dismantling the only sovereign state in the Middle East and i mean the ONLY ONE look at every other country in the region, Saudi Arabia outsources its entire defense to the Pentagon & couldn't fight a war in Yemen for 8y without American logistics and still lost, the UAE bought F-35s in exchange for normalizing with Israel, Qatar hosts the largest US air base in the region at Al Udeid, Bahrain hosts the US Fifth fleet, Kuwait, Iraq Jordan are military protectorates in everything but name none of these countries design manufacture or deploy their own weapons systems, none of them have an indigenous defense industry, their sovereignty ends where the next Lockheed Martin contract begins, if Washington calls tomorrow and says stop they stop because they literally cannot function without american hardware Iran is the ONLY country in that entire region that built everything from scratch under 40y of total embargo because NOBODY would sell them anything and that's exactly why they're the target they know the only way to stop this machine is to kill the people who build it…and when killing them one by one wasn't enough to crack an ecosystem too deep to break, they started bombing the universities directly and i'll say this as clearly as i can you don't bomb a university when you're winning a war, you bomb a university when you've realized the real threat was never the arsenal it was the intelligence behind it and you have no idea how to stop it

@CliveBeggs You know those ‘baggy blue’ surgical masks which doctors & nurses might wear if there’s an outbreak of Covid on a ward? They DON’T provide adequate protection against airborne (aerosol) transmission. Healthcare workers should be wearing FFP3 masks.

Israel has zero respect for International Law, Children, Civilians and Journalists are their primary target, they don't want the people to have a future + don't want the truth told about the present. Israel is a Terrorist State that still has the unconditional support of the EU..
Mohamad Safa@mhdksafa

This is not a military target, this is a car clearly marked as Press, Israel deliberately targeted in Lebanon, killing 3 journalists. This violates Article 79 of Additional Protocol I Geneva Conventions, but international law clearly doesn’t apply to Israel.

I'm happy to announce this new paper — we compile evidence on the extraordinary harms caused by IMF and World Bank structural adjustment programmes in the global South since the 1980s. The empirical record is devastating: documented negative impacts on wages, poverty, inequality, maternal mortality, infant mortality, healthcare access, etc. SAPs inflicted misery on the periphery in order to curtail their consumption, scupper independent development, and make labour and resources more cheaply available for the core. gh.bmj.com/content/11/Sup…

Recently, Israeli forces subjected a one-year-old child to abuse to pressure his father into giving confessions east of Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, according to local and family sources. The child's father, Osama Abu Nassar, suffered psychological trauma after the death of a horse he used for income. While taking his child to buy supplies a few days ago, he was caught in gunfire near his home and forced by soldiers to leave his 18-month-old son on the ground and approach the Israeli checkpoint, where he was stripped of his clothes. According to witnesses, the army then took the child and interrogated the father at the checkpoint. The forces tortured the child in front of his father, including burning with cigarettes on his leg, pricking, and inserting a metal nail into his leg, as confirmed by a medical report. The child, Karim, was released after 10 hours and handed over to his family through the International Red Cross, while the father remains in detention. 📷 Osama Al-Kahlout

Persistent Viral Reservoirs in Post-COVID Patients: Current Evidence and Clinical Implications 🚨Viral persistence isn't fringe theory anymore! ➡️This INTERESTING Korean review article examines the hypothesis that SARS-CoV-2 persists in human tissues beyond acute infection, contributing to long COVID (PASC). Authors synthesize evidence in detail from studies showing viral RNA and proteins (especially spike) detectable in organs like lungs, heart, brain, gut, and kidneys, as well as in immune cells (e.g, monocytes, macrophages) and body fluids (stool, saliva, urine), sometimes up to 15 months post-infection. ➡️Their short Long COVID Overview: - Long COVID (PASC) features persistent or recurring symptoms (fatigue, brain fog, dyspnea, myalgia, cognitive issues) ≥4–12 weeks post-acute infection, lasting up to at least 24 months. - ~17% of cases show no recovery and ~18% remain partially symptomatic at 24 months. - Pathophysiology is heterogeneous and incompletely understood - Viral persistence is one leading hypothesis, ➡️ Found evidence of SARS-CoV-2 persistence: - Viral RNA and/or proteins (especially spike) detected in multiple organs/tissues post-acute phase: lungs (alveolar macrophages), heart (myocardial cells), brain (neural tissues), gut (intestinal epithelium), kidneys. - Persistence in immune cells: monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, T cells (via phagocytosis, restricted infection, or antigen retention). - Detection in body fluids: prolonged RNA in stool, saliva, urine (weeks to months post-onset). - Duration: signals observed weeks to months (some studies up to 15+ months) - Infectious virus rarely isolated post-acute phase. - Methods: RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, electron microscopy but rarely confirms replication-competent virus, ➡️ Mechanisms of viral persistence and immune effects: - No classical latency (unlike herpesviruses). It involves incomplete clearance, abortive/restricted infection, antigen retention in long-lived cells (e.g, macrophages, microglia). - Immune evasion: interferon signalling inhibition, suppressed antigen presentation. - Persistent signals activate innate pathways (TLR3/7/8, RIG-I/MDA5), triggering NF-κB/IRF cascades → sustained cytokine production (IL-6, TNF-α), chronic inflammation, endothelial dysfunction. - Spike protein persistence may drive autoantibody formation, molecular mimicry, epitope spreading, and autoimmune-like responses, ➡️ Clinical implications and symptom links: - Persistent viral elements plausibly sustain multi-system inflammation, contributing to fatigue, brain fog, dyspnea, myalgia, cognitive dysfunction, cardiovascular/GI/renal issues. - Brain: neuroinflammation linked to headaches, mood/cognitive changes. - Gut/heart/kidney: associated with GI symptoms, myocardial inflammation, renal dysfunction. - Vascular: endothelial spike presence → microvascular abnormalities, chest pain, tachycardia. - Causal link to symptoms remains associative, not definitively proven, ➡️Risk factors: - Increased risk with age, sex, comorbidities (diabetes, obesity, immunosuppression), high acute viral load, lack of vaccination. - Immune features: impaired interferon responses, pre-existing autoreactivity, high ACE2/TMPRSS2 expression in tissues, ➡️Possible therapeutic approaches: - No approved disease modifying treatments, current care is symptomatic. - Investigational: extended antivirals (e.g., nirmatrelvir/ritonavir/Paxlovid up to 25 days in trials like RECOVER-VITAL), monoclonal antibodies. - Immunomodulatory: corticosteroids, JAK inhibitors, IL-6/TNF biologics to target inflammation. - Emerging: mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) for repair and anti-inflammation (ongoing trials, e.g, NCT04992247). - Emphasis on personalized, multi-modal strategies based on symptom profiles, ➡️Conclusions and limitations: - Strong evidence of persistent RNA/protein signals in tissues/cells, linked to inflammation and long COVID heterogeneity. - Distinguishing non-replicating remnants from active infection remains challenging, causation unproven. - Future needs: biomarkers, longitudinal studies, advanced assays (single-cell transcriptomics, negative-strand RNA), targeted trials. ‼️Persistent SARS-CoV-2 RNA and proteins are clearly detectable long after acute infection and plausibly drive chronic inflammation underlying long COVID, yet they do not prove ongoing replication or definitive causation, leaving effective eradication therapies out of reach and patients without validated cures. ‼️Reinfections receive essentially zero attention in this review, underscoring that viral persistence theories for long COVID remain overwhelmingly ffocused around unresolved remnants from the first infection, with any potential role of repeat infections left virtually unexplored here! ‼️So, in a field still lacking consensus on long COVID's root causes, this review critically elevates viral persistence from speculative hypothesis to a biologically plausible, and potentially treatable, core driver, yet its ultimate proof and therapeutic translation remain frustratingly elusive, leaving millions without targeted relief. #AvoidSars2 #AvoidReinfections mdpi.com/2673-8112/6/3/…

What Israel is doing to Southern Lebanon is *clearly* aimed at ethnic cleansing and colonization, using the same tactics as in the Gaza genocide. Nearly 1 million people forcibly displaced. We have to reject this evil with all our might, and support those who are resisting it.
