So happy to be part of a team that’s increasing access to quality higher education and excited about the official launch of Outlier.org’s Intro to Macroeconomics course!

Today is my last day at @hypothes_is. I made a tough decision to join a larger product team so I can continue to learn & grow as a product manager. I'm going to miss working with such an incredible team. Leaving a job you love is HARD, even when you know it's the right thing 😭

And as somebody who *makes* learning tools... I would really like to be an ally to trans folks & know that I am not contributing to that problem. 3/3

I know too many people who are consistently deadnamed by learning tools because usernames are generated from data that comes from an SIS, and it's not always easy/possible to change that SIS info 2/

It would be great if @LearningImpact and @Instructure (+ other LMSes) could get together & work out a way for LTI tools to respect name changes that don't come from the SIS. Something like person_display_name that LTI tools could use to create usernames for students & faculty 1/

👋 all, my friend @lemayke is looking to find a disabled BIPOC therapist. she currently has an appt set up but should that fall through, she will need to search again. she’s looking for someone who is holistic, familiar w/patients that have chronic pain, & NOT fatphobic.

@hupp It’s confusing that it shows up in 2 different spots! We’re in the process of redesigning the activity pages experience & part of that will be using the same annotation cards you see in the sidebar (so all the info will be in the same place when you switch b/t sidebar & website)

@lemayke Oh my that's really embarrassing. I even double-checked it! It *is* in a different spot than the website, I think I was looking for it at the end of the group name and was blind to it at the beginning.

1/ The privacy interface in @hypothes_is is incredibly confusing, bordering on dangerous. I've been aware of this for a while and still managed to accidently post a public annotation.

@hupp I also wanted to note that the Hypothesis extension will "remember" your preference once you make an Only Me annotation in a given browsing session (subsequent annotations will default to "Only Me" as long as you're logged in).

@hupp hey @hupp I am seeing a lock icon in your screenshot, which appears to be taken from the extension. here's a screenshot of some annotations I made in the extension, with the Only Me annotation also showing the lock icon.

for me "wanna" is "want + to," where "to" is part of an infinitive verb. never "want + a". Wanna have a tree planted in your name? --> fine *Wanna tree planted in your name? --> does not work ...does that second sentence work for any of you?

@doutorleonardo @hypothes_is @judell @lyzadanger Users should already be seeing this in the Bookmarklet - Chrome extension is subject to an approval process by Google, which is why that ends up being delayed when we ship things.

The @hypothes_is sidebar no longer covers PDFs when there is enough screen real estate - this has shipped for our LMS app and embedded client; coming to the browser extension soon! Thanks and kudos to @judell for the initial prototype & @lyzadanger for the implementation!
