@charfacez It’s perfectly okay to be fat, it’s not okay to be obese. Obesity is an actually illness while being fat is just a body type. You should be discerning between the two when having conversations like this, especially if you want to go into healthcare
I don’t think it’s okay to be fat, it’s important to have empathy because you do not know how they got there, but being fat isn’t okay and these ppl should be encouraged and educated in getting healthier
@tcoatltlum89571@WomenBeingAwful@matknot you literally did not need to bring race into it at all you trashy mcmuffin.
also...you're BRITISH. the LAST person to have a place to speak on indians.
@w0wthatscrazyyy not necessarily ed, but : SECOND PUBERTY IS A MYTH. just like the "belly pouch is your uterus" myth, the second puberty narrative also only serves to fuel eds even more
@Massem0rd@w0wthatscrazyyy The statement that the fat is just your uterus also falls apart because:
• If that was the case, everyone in the world without a uterus would have a flat stomach •There are MANY ppl in the world who have both uteruses and flat stomachs.
final part, swear
@Massem0rd@w0wthatscrazyyy And for ppl who RLLY need to lose weight, telling them the fat is just there to protect their organs is dangerous bc then they'll think it's safe, ignoring health problems down the line. OR, it can discourage them & make them feel they can never lose weight bc it's "their organs"
@Massem0rd@w0wthatscrazyyy Telling people their stomach fat is just their uterus or organs is dangerous. in people with eds it only further makes them determined to double down and unhealthily lose weight bc they fixate on it more and are desperate to get rid of it. (part 3)
@Massem0rd@w0wthatscrazyyy Stomach fat has both subcutaneous fat (under the skin) and visceral fat (grows around internal organs). If you actually have fat around your organs, you have visceral fat, and that is very dangerous, it causes inflammation and insulin resistance. Hold on I need to make a part 3.
@Massem0rd@w0wthatscrazyyy For the first part, basically your organs are already supported and protected by membranes called fascia. And your uterus in particular-which I usually hear ppl call the stomach pouch -is in the pelvic cavity. It's surrounded by bone, it doesn't need extra fat to protect it (1/2)
@lexiluvssoobin I mean I think it’s kinda true… some people have big heads and being a little rounded out helps them look portional, I love living in a world of variety
@littlbnyu@loveleebonez they basically mean you can't easily build muscle on your legs that isn't already there, since walking is cardio. not strength training.
