Hilary Knight, U.S. women’s hockey team captain, mentioned Connor Storrie in a new interview for Forbes.
"Connor Storrie hails from Texas but in Heated Rivalry, he plays Russian-born Ilya Rozanov. According to Hilary Knight, Storrie’s convincing Russian accent on the show is just one manifestation of his deep talent.
'He’s genuinely a superstar. He’s got this aura about him. I don’t even know if he has realized this yet, but he’s on such an amazing trajectory and there’s no limit there. It’s really cool to see somebody like that, who’s genuine and loves what they do. He’s so talented, and it is just awesome. I’m really excited to see what Connor does next — hopefully some more books and stories from the Heated Rivalry series, because it’s just so much fun. When you see an actor performing with a really thick accent and then you meet them and you’re like, ‘Wait, you’re not that character in real life!’ — when there’s that disconnect, you know they’ve done a really good job.'"

Casey Bloys, chief of HBO and HBO Max, mentioned Connor Storrie and Heated Rivalry in a new interview for Deadline:
DEADLINE: Let’s talk about the Heated Rivalry phenomenon. You came in as a buyer towards the end of last year, but it’s been a super interesting case study in how a show like that can be supercharged by both the local writing and having the HBO machine behind it.
BLOYS: Yes, it was an acquisition. I don’t like to make our Canadian friends mad, so I like to be clear that this is a Canadian production, written and directed by Canadians, and obviously Crave developed and produced this. We happily picked it up for the U.S. and other major markets, across Europe except for the UK where we hadn’t launched yet.
It’s been a great experience for us. I’ve gotten to know Jacob [Tierney, Heated Rivalry creator] very well, and his producing partner Brendan [Brady]. I was happy to be a part of being a part of that, watching that show take off, watching Connor and Hudson take off. I don’t think I’ve seen talent take off like that – from being waiters in the summer to hosting Saturday Night Live in February. I mean, it’s just insane. I’ve seen people get famous, but this was a whole other level, and I think they’ve handled it beautifully. It’s been fun to be part of, and I’m glad that we have subsequent seasons. And again, congratulations to Jacob and to Crave. The fans have been great.
