And nobody complains if they increase their spend next year to even the playing field.
They also come out to a huge home crowd & encourage people to come watch their home games, galvanising the fan base.
Instead they disappear & don’t even use the chance to say thank you. Bizarre
Manchester really had the chance to be winners regardless of the result yesterday.
They win, they’ve beaten the pantomime villains of the league and become everyone’s favourite Giant killers. If they lose, they’ve beaten bow out gracefully as the moral victors in defeat …
@JohnHobbsTB I don't disagree with the rivalry aspect at all. But to not come back out to at least applaud the Manchester crowd is very disrespectful and deprived the media of pics, interviews of the home team
The record remains for another year as no team promoted from Non-League has been relegated from the Football League in the next season, since automatic promotions began at the start of the 1986-87 campaign now at 59 clubs
It was so nice to see a Daggers team give it a go. Recruitment in the summer to give us more quality will be key but that was the energy needed. Small detail but loved us leaving 2 up on corners too. #yfd
Is this acceptable?
Since 1990, Spain has built nearly 7,000 miles of motorway.
So ... what about the UK?
We have built 422 miles of motorway in 35 years.
35 years – 422 miles. Thats only twelve miles every year.
Why have we stopped building?
30:38 (Chaundee Brown Jr) is the fewest minutes played to lead a team in minutes played in an overtime game in the livestats era. Previous low was 30:58 by Gabe Olaseni in London's 109-104 OT win v Newcastle in Oct 2023
@saintpat1962@LondonLions@SprLeagueBballM Watching Caledonia game. Player goes down in the paint and given a flop warning. He stays down holding his head and the offence continues around him, shots missed, play goes down the other end, missed shot, only then do refs stop the game. Player goes straight to get attention
So I've watched a perfectly good game of basketball that @LondonLions won easily & my over-riding thoughts are for the yet again poor officiating, which is easily fixed if @SprLeagueBballM actually acted professionally and appointed the best refs they can to the games!
@NLootin@saintpat1962@LondonLions Surely its not the refs responsibility to ensure shorts sponsorship can be seen. I agree about consistency between officials but ensuring shirts tucked in is just about bottom of the list in my priorities for british basketball.
@saintpat1962@LondonLions It’s driven me mad for seasons. I paid a lot of money to be a back of shorts sponsor and it contributed to me not doing it again. The teams and officials need to understand the commercial element to it.
Whilst overall the officiating at last night's @LondonLions game was better(it had very little to live up to!) & whilst I don't care if the players have their shirts tucked in or not, you can't have one ref telling a player to tuck his shirt in & another totally
Wales v Italy in Cardiff on Saturday - tickets available from £40 for adults; great deal to watch reviving home side & their free-scoring prop star, Rhys Carre + best Italian team for years (maybe ever?). Worth paying that and more just to witness the brilliance of Menoncello.
