Since Nov 3, after Stream Finance @StreamDefi disclosed a $93M loss and froze deposits/withdrawals, DeFi’s liquidity risk got real and farmers started pulling capital. Elixir’s deUSD was hit first — ~65% of its backing ($68M USDC) sat with Stream. @elixir Even with a redemption page and hints of priority claims on Stream assets, deUSD slipped off its peg. While the widespread destruction of value was painful for everyone involved, there is only so much we can control. In my view, our job is to: i) Ensure the collateral is never impaired ii) Service redemptions with zero downtime or delay iii) Guide platforms on suggested oracle and risk management parameters We did all of the above. Unfortunately we cannot control how each platform implements and manages their own oracle and risk management designs. I hope these events serve as a catalyst to align and take these decisions seriously.

While we share these suggestions privately with any partner we work with across both DeFi and CeFi, want to surface this publicly so there is zero doubt going forward on what we view as appropriate oracle design and risk management for USDe:
