@footsoldierRow @DrKanyuira It was opposite, Saf took advantage of peaks and off-peaks and even had airtime amounts drop from just the green cards to 100 and 50s while Kencell was stuck at 500, later on bamba 20, 10 &5 came in, Kencell(later Celtel) came down to 40, but it was too late.

Recently I thought about Kencell. Safaricom kept mobile service for the affluent, they were gate keeping in so many ways. Kencell came with affordable plans PLUS a Nokia/Ericsson handset, gave dignity to ordinary people. They’re the reason mo-phones were adopted widely.
