“Sappho and Erinna in the Garden Mytelene” by Simeon Solomon, 1864 the painting depicts Sappho embracing fellow poet Erinna. Sappho lived in Lesbos, Greece, and wrote poems about her love for women. The words ‘lesbian’ and ‘sapphic’ come from her.

@kingstonslut honestly i understand ur position. ur trans n lesbian which is genuinely two of the most attacked groups within our own community :( its sometimes hard for that reason to understand, but once u wrap ur head around the imbalance within our own community it makes sense !

@kingstonslut ofc!! i thought the same as u before but i had to realise that not all of us are ‘equal’ in society. gays are more accepted now than trans people, fighting isnt over! and theres the issue of rampant racism amongst white gays, theres sm imbalance within the community itself

@kingstonslut but i think theyre lgbt still, and not lesser than the rest of us. just far more privileged. in the same way that cis gays can be oppressive to trans people, cishet aces can be oppressive to the rest of us

@kingstonslut i think they are, but they need to understand their privilege and not speak over the rest of us. they need to sit and listen bc even though they face discrimination, it will never equate with what the rest of us face and thats just fact
