@cocteaucrushed exactly this, just like s1. really hoping she finds out this season, because the parallels to rhaenyra finding out about luke would be crazy, and because my girl olivia cooke needs an opportunity to do a little acting. i wish it would happen earlier though but it 100% won't.

starting to feel like alicent will begin the next season learning about helaena's death as that is how the last two seasons began for rhaenyra (if we ignore the two episodes getting cut) and these writers love their rhaenicent parallels too much

@rohanne__webber hmm, but tbf, rhaenicent having explicit sexual tension would be much more exciting to the average viewer than whatever is happening now. we often confuse twitter fans with the audience when they're separate entities. the less they use their potential, the weaker the ending.

@lesblumy i meant it in the sense of it being more subdued. them fighting now wouldn‘t make sense & go against the planned ending. I am just saying that they do not use their full potential —> Prolonged emotional heavy discussion (potentially being underlined with sexual tension)

im really enjoying the season as a whole so far but i do think alicent’s role in it has been noticeably and significantly reduced. what was she in like 3 scenes ? miss her being more central to the machinations of the main plot. maybe the escape attempt might change this i dunno.

@rohanne__webber for their plans to change they would need to change the ending they clearly planned from s1, and it doesn't seem to be the case. it feels more likely that they want to drag things out between them. had they listened to the backlash, rhaenicent would be fighting in ever scene.

@rohanne__webber @cocteaucrushed sure. but i also believe there should have been enough material in part 1, with alicent and rhaenyra living under the same roof for the first time in years and with otto's death. even if part 2 ends up being better, part 1 will stay a wasted opportunity when it comes to alicent.

rhaenyra lies every time she talks to alicent by the way. she doesn't mean to, she certainly doesn't realize it - but alicent knows. she cannot keep her safe, she cannot promise she won't have to hurt helaena. she's the queen now. alicent knows what that implies.

@sublicent it's cruel of her but rhaenyra also keeps alicent close to her because she knows alicent is incapable of not loving her. the irony is, rhaenyra feels the safest loving the one person she shouldn't. alicent was the first to love her and she will be the last.
