@LongRon I missed the price on Young, one of my Augusta ‘regulars’ as well. CM back is prob enough to put me off, despite drifting to a decent number. Leaning X over Bryson at similar prices. Looks ready to me, reckon he’ll go v close. Spieth usual conundrum, price a bit skinny atm

@DatGoneIt77 Nah, was thinking about him again last week but he was tipped up before I had a chance to back him. Circa 23.0 around Sawgrass isn’t my bag. Plenty I quite fancy that are at least treble that price. Not saying Aberg won’t play well, just no value in the price in my eyes.

Before I do my bollox at Cheltenham, thought I’d share a few Players thoughts. Love the event - great course, great drama, a real leveller, just got to play well on the week. Backing these three: Fowler 70 Spieth 110 Theegala 110

Early thoughts on the Masters.. Scottie (not quite firing) and Rory (pressure of defending) currently look opposable. Big Jon Rahm top of my list atm. Quietly rattling up a succession of good scores over in Liv-land. 67,68,67,63 2nd Riyadh 68,63,66,71 2nd Adelaide 66,62 HK

Backed Ludvig last week and the bet was dead in the water after 3 holes. Played better as the week went on though. Thought he was a big price at Pebble (60), out to 65/70 this week so have gone back in. Riviera should be right up his street.

Tiger-esque comeback from Anthony Kim. You’d struggle to make it up.

@DatGoneIt77 Ha, if he goes 5 clear I’ll be out and he can look as befuddled as he wants.. Several I toyed with but didn’t bet have started well - always the way though innit. Knapp was last off my list so have added him after R1, thought he looked good yesterday.

@lestick74 The way Novak hacked it around looking befuddled and flush in the face after going 5 shots clear at the RSM classic was enough to put off anyone for a while…. But…

Also backing a couple of longshots who have reasonable back form at Pebble and appeal in different ways: Denny McCarthy 250 Andrew Novak 250

Novak's game went up a gear in 2025 - some strong performances on courses that hint Pebble should suit. 20th, 13th last two visits. I'd be inclined to forget last week's hack at Phoenix and focus on the impressive 7th at Torrey the week before..

Denny hasn't missed a cut since the Open but not quite piecing it all together for a top finish. Always seems to drive it well at Pebble, just needs that putter to click, which he's well capable of doing.

Ludvig's price this week 👀 Won on West Coast last yr, second here at Pebble in 2024. Forget Torrey MC, tired muscles/poor timing from illness that forced his w/d in the Amex. That was 2 weeks ago, would expect him back to fitness by now. Currently 20th in the betting at 60

Looks like the early guys might catch a break with the weather in Bahrain tomorrow. Wind picking up considerably in the afternoon but forecast to be fairly constant Friday, so no quid pro quo.

Wasn’t to be for Si Woo last week, didn’t have it Sunday, decent enough trading vehicle though.. Rolling with the old ‘class is permanent’ adage at Torrey. Will Z 48 Sahith 70 Homa 85 Hoping a return to Torrey - a happy hunting ground for all - fosters recent green shoots.

Has anybody seen scoring averages for the AmEx courses this year?

Possibly the amateur friendly pin positions / green speeds, I don’t know, but he definitely putts well here. If he matches a decent putting week with the way he has been playing then I can see him going to close to repeating his 2021 victory.

SI Woo has been on a heater since last August, good finish after good finish despite not putting great. However, it’s his putting stats that have lured me in this week. In 2021, 2022, and 2023 had his best putting week of the year in this event, and his 2nd best last year.

Going with these two in the AmEx. Ludvig 32 SI Woo Kim 38 Aberg is clearly the second best player in the field - just does everything well, wherever he plays. Can see him setting up chance after chance and the birdies will inevitably come. Expected him to be a lower price.
