Willie Stargell's 5 Swing Tips 1. Avoid Muscle Lock: Don’t stand static; it tenses your forearms and wrists. 2. Keep it Fluid: Use a rhythmic motion (like the "propeller") to stay loose before the pitch. 3. Stay Relaxed: Relaxation is the key to bat speed; tension is the enemy. 4. Master Your Timing: Use your pre-swing movement to sync up with the pitcher’s delivery. 5. Trust Your Flow: Find a routine that keeps you "in the zone" and ready to react.

Exactly 25 years ago today, I scored my first — and only — professional goal. Contrary to what I believed at the time, goalkeepers are not allowed to handle the ball in both penalty areas. The goal was disallowed and I was sent off — still it earned me legendary status. 😉 #otd

🚨💣 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄: Hollywood is heading to Brazil! Ryan Reynolds is close to an agreement to buy Brazilian Série D club Santa Cruz to replicate the “Wrexham effect.” 🎥😳 This is not about purchasing a ready-made team. Reynolds sees Santa Cruz as the perfect story — a traditional club with a passionate fanbase currently struggling in the lower divisions. Relegated from Série B in 2017, Santa Cruz has been competing in Série C and Série D in recent years as they attempt to rebuild. The model is clear: historic club, loyal supporters, difficult moment, and massive narrative potential.

“Provocation is going to happen. How you handle that, for me, is a testament.” USWNT coach Emma Hayes was asked about Argentinian defender Sofía Domínguez’s hair pull on Jaedyn Shaw and whether she deserved a red card. “To be honest with you, I can't make comment to that. I'm not officiating the game,” Hayes answered during the press conference. “But I am looking for our emotional control, like when you have to be on the edge when you're being provoked, but don't go too far over it. Same with Olivia [Moultrie] in the second half.” “Actually it's important for us to know, we choose if we're getting involved in situations, and we choose to come away from them things.” “Both Jaedyn and Olivia handled those things well. Provocation is going to happen. Provocation is going to happen with different types of opponent. How you handle that, for me, is a testament.” “Why? Because imagine that is a World Cup, and in a split second, we lose it, boom! Down to 10 players.” “So we want these opportunities. And if we were seeking perfection, then I might be approaching something differently, but I'm here to develop a whole squad to be ready for these situations.” “So I'm delighted that I'm putting in the team in an uncomfortable position, and that we're coming through it much differently than we did against Portugal which was exactly the same situation for me.” “Actually, I think we handled the hard part better and had much better emotional control, even though it was scrappy.”

Your college degree will have a bigger impact on the next 40 years of your life than college soccer ever will. So keep that in mind when deciding on a degree at the highest level academically vs playing college soccer in the middle of nowhere with poor academics. If the college soccer opportunity and their degree is not great, just go play club soccer in college and receive a better education that will have a bigger impact on the next 40 years of your life. #CSTruth
