This isn't hypocrisy. It's human nature. When instant gratification competes with long-term values, gratification usually wins. The solve isn't to shame people into using decentralized stables. It's to make participating in them genuinely rewarding. 3/

Your values tell you to boycott the coffee chain that supports causes you disagree with. But it's right there. It's convenient. You buy one anyway. Crypto has the exact same problem. And it's killing decentralized stables. 1/

A hard-pegged stablecoin is a promise: "This token is worth $1 because we say so, here's the collateral to prove it." This holds until it doesn't. When confidence cracks: cascading depegs, bank runs, frozen funds. The rigidity that made the system works makes it catastrophic
