Happy 89th Birthday to Jack Nicholson!

I went to a concealed carry match last weekend and used my EDC instead of my competition gear. It was really good to try out my Glock 45 in a match setting. Some takeaways: 1. My accuracy is as good with the G45 as it is with my Shadow 2. I thought it would be worse. 2. Pretty much every match skill transfers easily across different weapons. 3. I have to seriously improve my draw time and form from concealed. 4. I have to learn how to plan a stage with a lower round count.

I finished reading Labyrinth of Evil and it is the perfect prequel to Revenge of the Sith.

I used to think that the "resurrection of the flesh" in the Apostles' Creed was meant to challenge the Sadducee rejection of resurrection (Mark 12:18, Josephus' Wars 2.8.14). However, it was a rejection of the belief a purely evil material world, since it was likely composed in the 2nd Century when Gnostic and Marcionite sects were prevalent.

The New Testament canon was compiled as a response to Marcion's rejection of several gospels and epistles. "This was not done in a formal manner, through a council or special meeting. What actually happened was that a consensus developed gradually. While very soon there was general agreement as to the basic books to be included in the canon of the New Testament, it took a long time to come to an absolute consensus on every minor detail."
