Paris took oil giant Total to court - and won. The court ruled that Total must account for its consumers’ greenhouse gas emissions (ie downstream emissions), giving the French oil giant six months to update its climate policies & what is doing to mitigate downstream emissions.

From the brilliant folks @ember_energy: For the first time, every OECD country is generating less electricity from fossil fuels than at its historical peak. Canada is at the bottom (4th last) - ie we're one of the OECD laggards in terms of phasing out fossil fuel generation

Young people should not have to be in court demanding a lawful climate plan. Neither should we, as climate experts. Yet PM Carney has shut out experts from his government's decision making, and is clearly not listening to concerns being raised by those within government.

Canadians haven’t abandoned climate. Their government has. PM Carney has dismantled Canada’s climate progress, but new polling from Abacus Data shows that the majority of Canadians — over 60 per cent — don’t think PM Carney is taking the climate crisis seriously enough.
