Our contrarian take from 2023 is mainstream this week. We started Carbon to bridge CEX liquidity onchain via RFQ. 2.5 years validating on perps - $18.9B traded, 36K users. The real prize was always TradFi assets. On CLOBs - they aren't a mistake. They work when liquidity exists and flows. They break for RWAs where onchain liquidity hasn't formed yet. That changes as DeFi rails reach institutional adoption, but not overnight. Our RFQ architecture taps that TradFi liquidity directly to trade onchain. New positioning ship next week. RWA Season.

It's becoming clear that RFQ for RWAs on-chain is the best solution. Outside of ~10 pairs there just simply is no liquidity on orderbooks. First platforms to partner with big TradFi broker to allow RFQ-model for RWAs will win.

Biggest win here over Opus 4.7 seems to be agentic terminal use. Already codex is performing better at coding, this in my experience was the lagger. Will play around with 5.5 - might be a game changer
