@Gladwell In this case, disagree. It was a beautiful display of technology, teamwork, physiology, and peak human performance. Bannister had several failed sub4 “stunts” with pacemakers before it actually happened. Today we witnessed an outlier’s greatest performance ever in real time!

(This tweet for runners only!) FWIW I would much rather have seen Kipchoge race Bekele in Berlin, in what would have been the greatest marathon ever, than have him try another sub2 stunt.
