I feel like not enough ppl understand this aspect of the justice system—how long ppl wait for trials, & how that ruins their lives. A kid I know wasted YEARS of his teens, into his twenties, locked up awaiting trial in STL County for something he didn’t do. They stole his youth

A Portland mother was falsely charged with theft. Misidentified because she and the suspect are both Black. She waited months for a public defender. 1,280 people in her county were waiting too. They lost jobs. Lost housing. Lost custody of their children. theguardian.com/us-news/2026/a…

Mad we don't learn about how King Leopold II of Belgium killed over 10 million Black people, Churchill murdered 3 million Indians, British transported 3.1 million Africans during the British Slave Trade, but we know how many wives Henry VIII had. 💀

abusers often harm/kill the pets before they attempt to harm/kill the person they’re abusing. in my opinion she should have court mandated therapy and community service/probation, not be locked up when so many abusers who manage to kill their victims get a <5 year sentence
PROTECT ALL WILDLIFE@Protect_Wldlife

Men are increasingly targeting companion animals in a worrying pattern of domestic violence towards women. In the seconds after he broke the news to her, Claire lunged at Keith with a kitchen knife, stabbing him twice in the chest and abdomen and screaming: 'You've killed my dogs.' It's not fearmongering to say pap smears are invasive procedures that can flare up people's trauma. Yes they're important to get. But the kneejerk response to belittle women who are uncomfortable with them instead of meet them on their level is not going to convince anyone.

Obviously its important to get a pap smear, but the amount of people who shut down any stories of women experiencing pain during smear tests and accuse them of exagerrating is a blatant example of medical misogyny.

i don't think women should just accept the pain that comes with invasive medical procedures. we should want better.

Getting pap smears is important but shaming and shifting on people who have anxiety or trauma is hardly gonna make them feel comfortable enough to do it. Truly being a bitch about it is the most counter productive thing possible

some of you guys are WAY too comfortable using ableist rhetoric and then being like "oh but i would never say that to a disabled person"

i just feel like this app isn’t nuanced enough to discuss why a man born in 1914, who was arrested in 1946 for a “homosexual act”, may have advised a fellow actor to stay quiet on gay rights. i think people villainizing him need to get a grip
