The case for changing the rule would be to keep play consistent and more interesting. Yamamoto got the win in game 6, he’s not getting shortchanged it’s Otanhi only getting 3 innings because in game 7 the dodgers pitched 4 starters. I’m not against the dodgers doing that because it’s the rules, but I think the game suffers because it’s more exciting to see the potential offense from a pitcher having to pitch 6 or 7 innings. Instead you’ve only got 20-30 pitches each and stack the deck with more fastballs and less finesse. I just wonder: if it works why not do it every game in the WS? Why not have Otanhi, Yamamoto etc pitch 30 pitches and take 4 starters into every game? You can see how if we did that every game it’s not like the game of baseball anymore, right?

Dodgers used a $750 million pitcher, a $182 million pitcher, a $136.5 million pitcher, and a $325 million pitcher to win the World Series tonight btw. Definitely healthy for the sport. Definitely good for it.
