What does it say about the culture among first responders that this MLA felt comfortable saying something deeply sexist in an open forum? This isn't a problem of individuals, it's a problem of historically entrenched biases and prejudices that we all must address.

I’m not sure how to even respond to this information. Seems PEI MLA Tyler DesRoches is trying to drag #paramedic progress back thirty years. Women are integral to the profession. Full stop! cbc.ca/player/play/22…

When I was touched inappropriately at work by a colleague 20 years my senior, I was told he "didn't realize" his behaviour wasn't acceptable. Talk to the women in your services - we have all had or know of, experiences like these. globalnews.ca/news/9783677/l…

@Tyne_River Its not like I could do anything if I were there, but watching my city wrestle with forest fires from half a world away makes me feel so powerless

@JeffreyBilyk I agree with the overall message of the article, but given that millenials are now 26 to 40 years old, maybe we could start working towards this cultural shift by not calling them babies

Lazy? Or misunderstood culture shift? At any rate Paramedic organizations won't be able the use the strategies of old when dealing with the younger generation of clinicians. It's time to adapt for the benefit of all. The Curious Case of the Baby Medics linkedin.com/pulse/curious-…

@rebecca_rigney Zotero is more user friendly if you are new to reference managers, Mendeley is more robust if you are expecting to bank serious time with your literature

@Tyne_River In favour of 'treat & release', but hate the language. It feels very dehumanizing to me. Maybe something like 'assessment & alternative care plan' instead?

@Tyne_River I have such worries about this. There is a long history of political unrest following periods of economic depression. Makes me wonder if the increasingly polarized ideologies that have emerged in the past few years were seeded in the 2008 economic recession
