It's not new.
We've done it a number of times under Arne.
The problem has been that he's never allowed it to grow. Always backed away from it at the first sign of it not working immediately.
We should have been playing this way all season. As suggested by many in the summer

@rajsinghchohan Pep is the most influential manager of modern football. All modern football is downstream of his ideas. There are atleast 10 coaches in PL who were directly inspired by him. He is the greatest ever. Paisley inspired nobody. And pep has 3 CL's.

There’s a manager who won 6 league titles in 9 seasons (Pep & Fergie level domestic dominance) but also won 3 out of the 7 CLs (European Cups) that he competed in. That’s the unanimous GOAT manager to coach in England surely.

Who was the last manager that the fans *did* support in 'tough times'?
I honestly can't think of one in the modern era at least where fans weren't asking for them to be sacked. Even Klopp got them in 22/23.
Did people turn on Houllier? I was 9 so don't remember

@liamgriffiths85 @Shannxo I don't think we played bad today. The frontmen were too selfish sometimes and had poor decisions other times. Szoboszlai is too immature and casual in his passing

@liamgriffiths85 @Shannxo Slot hasn’t helped himself but some of the senior players need to be held accountable too, as well as Hughes and Edwards. Far too much change too quickly in the summer imo.

As a life long Alton Towers fan, I’ve never felt so disappointed in the park. It really is disheartening to see the place you love, fall so far behind.
Everything from the ride availability to the staggered openings is affecting the guest experience massively.

@SadioIogist Why is it in the summer when fans of other clubs were ripping us for “spending half a billion” all our fans argued our net spend was actually not too bad but now everyone seems to be using it as a stick to beat Slot with? He’s only a “head coach”

I’ve seen Klopps teams plays well worse than this team but I’ve also seen them play some of the best football from any team ever.
This team don’t trust each other and have zero confidence. #LFC
