@LITizenJeff @JinguUniversity Metra is completely safe. If you ever feel uncomfortable by something just tell a conductor. I’ve seen them kick people off the train for talking too loud. The L can get dicey and I’ve personally had bad experiences everytime I take it outside of rush hour.

In Chicago, most people take the train - whether in from the suburbs on the "METRA" or from other parts of the city on the "L" train, which is the intracity light rail system.
From your train stop, you walk.
It has become dangerous to use either, as Chicago quickly releases violent criminals back to the streets and does not have adequate policing for the number of criminals, lunatics, drug addicts and foreign gang & cartel members roaming the city. They often target the most vulnerable.

People say Japan's train network is excellent, but how do businessmen commute in big American cities like Chicago?
