Full video report from @yonibashan and myself in Tel Aviv earlier this month, when Iran fired almost 200 missiles - many ballistic - towards Israel. We were initially heading towards a mass shooting incident where nine people were killed by two Hamas terrorists when the missiles were launched by Iran. Read the full story here: l.taus.au/rI4

Alice Springs police have opened fire at a ute which rammed a police car at high speed overnight in yet another escalation in the town’s dire crime crisis. On Wednesday evening a police officer discharged three shots at a Mazda ute which rammed the rear of the police car — which had a police officer inside – with “significant force”. The extraordinary footage follows an escalation of violence in the town, with most recently a machete riot featuring machetes, rocks, tables and a fleeing car resulting in calls for more police on the ground. Reddam House mother reported to police over ‘vicious antisemitic’ tirade A mother at a prestigious private school in Sydney’s eastern suburbs was reported to police after allegedly launching a “vicious antisemitic” tirade against a fellow school parent whose daughter was caught in the middle of the Bondi massacre. Reddam House mother Meghan Byrne, an artist, was reported to police last week after allegedly “politicising and mocking” the daughter of Sydney Jewish man Jeremy Levitt, just weeks after his young daughter was forced to flee the Hanukkah event at the centre of the Bondi massacre with blood on her jumper. However, NSW Police detectives don’t believe the threshold for criminal action has been met. Both adults are parents at Reddam House, an elite school in the heart of the eastern suburbs that is home to many members of Sydney’s Jewish community. Full story: l.taus.au/FDr

Footage of “warring families” in the centre of Alice Springs and featuring machetes, rocks, tables and a fleeing car has renewed calls for more police support on the ground. The footage shows about a dozen people – at least three armed with machetes – throwing rocks, a chair and a machete at a man who fled in a car just after 1pm on Friday. The fight broke out in one of Alice Springs’ most public areas, and just meters from where the town’s $4.8m Tourism Central Australia and Visitor Information Centre is to be constructed. Polite, young and even quietly patriotic to her adopted country, Zheng Siru presents as a hard-working bakery assistant serving coffees and buns to busy Canberrans. But federal authorities allege the “peaceful life” Ms Zheng insists she leads is a facade – and that the 31-year-old with a shy smile is a Chinese Communist Party agent working surreptitiously to monitor members of Australia’s Chinese community.
